Bali Indian Wedding Occasions

We do believe there are hundreds of rituals in the Indian Wedding Procession whether it is Northern Indian, Southern Indian, Eastern, or maybe Western Indian Style of the wedding, below is the most common occasions held in Bali Wedding Destination:

Pithi and haldi
Haldi

Haldi holds an important place in Indian traditions because it also purifies and cleanses the body. After the haldi ceremony, when the paste is rinsed off, it helps to remove dead cells and detoxify the skin. ... Most people believe that haldi has the power to ward off evil spirits from affecting the bride and the groom.

In Bali Wedding Destination,Haldi usually before the Mhendi or sometimes during the mhendi. the best venue to do Haldi is in the outdoor or garden area

henna wedding in bali
Mhendi/Henna and Sangeet
The core significance of applying Mehndi is to utilize its natural medicinal herbal remedies, cooling the body and relieving the Bride of any stress before her big day. Henna is applied to both the hands and the feet as a means of cooling the nerve-endings of the body.
In Bali Wedding Destination Mhendi and Sangeet is the most chill occasions, while the ladies doing their henna and chill by the pool/garden, the boys can go swimming or playing beach volley ball or maybe crickuet. Mhendi usually start by lunch time and finish before the sunset time back to their room and get ready for sangeet/Party in Ballroom/garden

ghari in Bali
Ghari Pooja - Sindhi Wedding
Navgrahi Pooja, Ghari Pooja

They are invited into the house as guests by offering them food, water and light, which is done to appease all cosmic and mythical deities to remove any obstacles in way of the auspicious day. In Bali Wedding Destination usually Ghari happen in the morning it could be in the meeting room or family suite of the hotel or resort
Mandap Beach Bali
Bharat and Pheras (Wedding)
The most favourite venue to place a mandap in Bali is usually on the beach or on top of the cliff, if you like greeneries setting we can setup the mandap facing to the mountain valley.

the wedding ceremony all started by the Baraat processions, it can be with dhol and the groom riding a horse.

it can be also the bride ride a special carrier called Doli and in same cases bride will only need flower chadar that held by his four brother. Once the groom arrived at the front of the mandap, he will be welcome by the bride's parents then he can enter the mandap. all the procession is happening in the mandap including the pheras.

kalire in Bali
Kalire
Kalire ritual is almost the same like bouquet throwing in western style of wedding.
The ritual is followed with the bride shaking her chooda and kalire worn hands on the heads of all the unmarried girls present. It is believed that if any part or leaf of the kalire falls on the head of any girl's head, she will be the next one to get married.
In Bali Wedding Destination the kalire can be held during the mhendi henna party by the garden. it is a fun and chill occasion and definitely memorable.
Indian Reception in Bali
Vidaii followed by reception

Vidaai, also known as Bidaai,it is a form of a farewell ceremony organized by the family of the bride to officially bid farewell to their daughter as she leaves for her marital home. in the Indian Bali Wedding Destination the vidaii can be done in the front of the groom's hotel room. so the planner will prepare bride's belonging ready in the groom's room beforehand, then the bride can get ready and retouching her make up for the dinner reception.

Dinner reception is the formal occasion in the Indian Wedding Procession, where all the importatant speeches happen.

Punjabis are simple yet fun-loving people who believe in expressing their emotion with gusto. Similar to their nature, their weddings reflect their life philosophy. Punjabi weddings are colorful, loud, sometimes over the top, fun filled with lots of opportunities for singing and dancing one’s heart out. Punjabi weddings may be simple or lavish, but they ensure unlimited fun and celebration. A host of pre and post wedding rituals make a Punjabi wedding a lengthy and enjoyable affair. Although, Punjabis do not miss an opportunity to make merry, their weddings display their propensity towards adhering to age old traditions, albeit with a conventional twist to them sometimes.

Gujarat is known for its great culture, and delicious vegetarian food. All of these traits come together during a typical Gujarati wedding where the union of two souls is not just a bunch of ancient ritual, but a true celebration. There will hardly be a dull moment, with multiple pre and post wedding rituals, vivacious dancing and adherence to tradition. The sheer warmth of the hosts and their careful attention to detail for your comfort is sure to win your heart. It is a two or three day’s affair with multiple rituals observed through each day. If you can imagine a wedding full of fun and frolic without being over the top showy affair; then you must have experienced a truly Gujarati Wedding.

Sindhi weddings are generally lavish affair with lots of razzle-dazzle involved. The weddings generally involve quite a number of rituals and customs which involves a lot of fun and merriment. While the element of fun is ever-present in a Sindhi wedding, traditions hold equal importance to having a good time. Sindhis are Sanatani Hindus and Sindhi weddings reflect a blend of Hinduism and Sufism. The marriages are conducted in accordance with Vedic rites and they usually take place on universally recognized auspicious days like Satyanarayan Chandsi or the new moon day. Lip-smacking delicacies, fun-filled mood, oodles of display of wealth and adherence to age old customs make Sindhi weddings a must-experience event.
Sikh Wedding Sikhs are also one of the most powerful warriors among Indian communities but are lover of peace as preached by their revered Gurus. Marriage and family are considered to be one of the primary duties of a Sikh. Through the holy union of marriage one is brought closer to the Divine Love. The Sikh marriage ceremony is known as ‘Anand Karaj’, which has been recognized by Indian Government since 1909. Sikhism is strictly against the practice of dowry at the time of marriage, and grants equal rights to men and women during the process of the wedding. A celebration of union, a Sikh Wedding spans through several days of pre and post wedding ceremonies. The rich culture and strict adherence to religious codes of conduct make the Sikh wedding a study in contrasts.
